.The chasm with one traditional beliefs and minorities freeing on either side is a deeply rooted and complex issue that has persisted for centuries. Widespread beliefs, which has traditionally been the dominant narrative in Evangelical religion, has usually perpetuated and justified systems of persecution, particularly against African people.
On the other hand, African salvation doctrine is a creed framework that centers the grounding and freeing of Black citizens. It is a reaction to the ways in which ordinary religion has failed to adequately address the unique struggles and experiences of Africans.
The chasm between these two approaches to religion is vast and wide. While main beliefs often uphold the status quo and reinforce systems of oppression, African freeing theology seeks to challenge and dismantle these systems. This can create tension and division within faith communities and beyond.
It is crucial for those who are committed to fairness and justness to work towards bridging this chasm. This requires acknowledging and addressing the ways in which white supremacy has infiltrated and influenced traditional theological narratives, and actively lifting up and supporting Black voices and experiences. Only through this kind of intentional and ongoing effort can we hope to begin to heal the divide and work towards true salvation for all.
